How do you decorate around brass to make it look less tacky and more interesting?

There are special spray paints specifically designed to use on metal. Just go to someplace like OSH Lowe's or Home Depot. You probably should clean the items with TSP first (you can get this at one of those stores too). Then just follow the instructions on the can of spray paint. You can find some of these paints in different colors and also with very interesting finishes.  Good Luck

Can you spray paint it black? Just kidding. I can't stand brass anymore, used to like it but now the shiny brass just makes me cringe, I just gave away a couple of brass vases, and a brass pineapple thing, and a few other knick nacks I had collected over the years.

if it has anything like wood around it paint the wood or take like pretty em-borders and glue it on pretty flowers too
