How do you define a stalker?

Based on the law in my state (Illinois), a stalker is somebody who places surveillance on another person and has threatened violence on at least two occasions. My definition is in synch with the law. I think the word "stalker" is thrown around a little too loosely.

i use to have a stalker and this is what he use to do: call me all the time ( i didn't give him my number), found my address, came to my church, followed me when i went places, and tried to be friends with my friends. then i found out he tried to come to my school, so i put a restraining order out on him!

They follow you around everywhere and they are obsessed on the person they follow. Usually they take pictures or keep track of what the person does.

someone who drives by/walks by your house constantly. Calls you all the time to talk or just calls to make sure you answer the phone and then hangs up. If you are in school he leaves you letters in your locker. Follows you around town.

A stalker is someone who is following you around, showing up places you are at all the time, and watching you. They can make unwanted phone calls, e-mails, or pop by your place of work or home. All of these actions need to be unwanted by the victim. They are interferring with the victim's freedom and causing fear or uncomfort to the person being stalked. Stalker = Constant contact everyday! Possible follows you around (depends pn age of person etc..and you) Basically can't stop seeing you and contacting you + making you seem a bit wary about that stalker. Also it may get serious and possible violent (again depening on age) if its to do with you then tell your loved ones and close friends...seek help..
