Question:

How do you define love? What does this "phenomenon" do for you?

Needless to say, I gave this matter plenty of thought as I am just recovering from a heart wreck. Heart wreck? maybe the wrong word. rather a mind wreck. have you ever been in love?

I know that when I am in love, my head seems to be spinning. And I get a sensation of high...

So, naturally, I started examining this strange phenomenon from a psychological point of view. according to the scientists, if one "spects"

the brain of a person in love, the scanned image is very similar to the scanned image of a person during a high caused by a hallucinogen (cocaine or heroin). So, naturally, one loves the feeling and pursues the person as a mean to enjoy even more of this bewildering sensation.

So technically, we love "love" not a person. We love what that person does for us. And when "love" is gone, withdrawal kicks in. Boy, do know that feeling! : )

But seriously, what are your thought on this phenomenon called "love"?

I am looking forward to all the answers!

  1. Love. these words come to mind. Strange. confusing. exhilarating.  just when you think you've got it figured out, you don't.  mind-blowing. exciting. it can be everything or it can be/. turn into nothing.  it can be going somewhere, stalled, or going nowhere. sometimes it can even go backwards.  you can go from friends to lovers. lovers to friends.  sense to confusion and vice versa. it is not a solid. i would say it is in liquid state. constantly moving. requires constant monitoring.  though it's nice to get, 'settled in' i don't know if you can ever really do so. the good thing is, after some time, time for yourself, it can come back in one form or another.  people are cuddly and that is nice, but goals are a good distraction. a new fitness regime, lesson/ class, art, book...something to pursue.  that's what we like, isn't it? the pursing part?

  2. Some search for it when it is right before their eyes,

some never find it, and some do not believe in it,

but most who have it squander it.
