  1. 1.Physical — virile, athletic, strong, brave.

    2.Functional — breadwinner, provider for family

    3.Sexual — sexually aggressive, experienced. Single status acceptable;

    4.Emotional — unemotional, stoic, for example, the proverb "boys don't cry";

    5.Intellectual — logical, intellectual, rational, objective, practical,

    6.Interpersonal — leader, dominating; disciplinarian; independent, free, individualistic; demanding;

    7.Other Personal Characteristics — success-oriented, ambitious, aggressive, proud, egotistical; moral, trustworthy; decisive, competitive, uninhibited, adve

    Some i would contribute more to women but there ya go.

    enjoyment of driving too fast

    determination to defend territory

    ability to draw bicycles

    interest in how stuff works

    difficulty with multitasking

    desire for independent social status

    shaving blindness (inability to see beard hairs that need to be cleaned out of the sink)

  6. Masculinity?  A man who is strong; mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially.

    One who is capable of unconditional love for a woman and is willing to accept the same from her.

    One who is not afraid to show emotions.  One who is not afraid to get his guard down.  One who is able to admit when he's done something wrong and is compassionate and always willing to help when he's able to.

    There are so many others;;;  But I'll stop now...

  7. I'm a little disappointed at the answers so far....

    Here's what I call masculine:

    upper body strength

    facial hair

    affinity for mechanical things

    team player, sometimes team leader

    protective

    territorial

    often stoic

    problem solver/fixer

  10. It varies from culture to culture, therefore it's subjective and impossible to define.

    Remember the news footage of George Bush walking around with the King of Saudi Arabia and holding hands with him? Apparently, it's not uncommon for Saudi men to hold hands in friendship. Yet I doubt many people would call them "effeminate."

    Many European men kiss each other on both cheeks upon greeting, yet they are perfectly heterosexual.

    Masculinity is an ideal.
