    Electric Motor, and Automobile Engine


  2. A motor is electric. And an engine is internal combustion.

  3. The terms are pretty interchangeable, i.e you would have a motor boat, but it would be powered by an engine, but you might be asked what type of motor you had in your boat. Both are power production units.

  4. In science a motor is defined as electric energy to mechanical.

    An engine is defined as heat energy(from burning fuel) to mechanical.

    In a car you have a starter motor for your internal combustion engine.

    The term seem to have been used interchangeably but that is not correct.
