Do you think bad connotations are linked to the word?

Does it mean father / dead beat dad?

Is it a sign of the times?

  1. Ignorant immature term for a man who fathered a child out of wedlock.

    What's wrong with "That's my child's father"??

  2. "Usually a broke *** black man; Who you met through a friend and had s*x wit when you was upset and confused. Now you don had his baby and he dont pay child support and denies yo son ray ray. "

  3. The father of a child to a single mother...

    BAD CONNOTATION!

    lol, watch Maury :P

  4. It means "LOSER"

  5. A baby daddy is the father of your baby but you have no feelings for this man anymore. He isn't your husband, boyfriend, friend, or even acquaintance.

The word probably originated from Maury.

Yes, it is usually a bad thing to be called one.

  6. An inept term to denote the bio-dad of a child.

  7. Definitely a dead beat dad. Never married the kid's mother. And sadly, yes it is a sign of the times. Children are being born out of wedlock more often, often as a result of casual s*x between irresponsible people.

  8. I believe "Baby Daddy" would be used to refer to someone if that is all that man played a role as.  So if the parents are married or even living together or hve some kind of positive relationship; I wouldn't use that term; it would be the babies father or dad!  I really do think there is a negative connotation behind it - mostly because of what most people are trying to imply when they use the term.   Again, I think it is one more way to integrate slang into our vocabulary; hence not enabling us to show our intelligence!

    Have a great day!

  9. I believe it does have a bad connotation to it. At least based on my experiences with people using the phrase.

I would define "Baby Daddy" as the father of a child whom the mother doesn't have a positive relationship with anymore.

I feel anyone can be someones father but it takes a special type of man to be someones dad. Dad is often the word a child calls his/her father when they have a close and loving relationship. You don't hear a toddler or a teen say, Hi Father! they usually say Hi Dad or Daddy!

    Hope that helps!
