  1. As long as you have Windows Server 2003 computers you can run defragmentation reports and defrag hard disks remotely and programmatically.  It’s actually pretty easy to defrag a volume using WMI: all you have to do is connect to the volume in question and then call the Defrag method.

  2. same way you defrag a PC

  3. You need to power down the flux device service module once that is down then you will need to start up the ion service module before that completely boots up you will also need to hold one foot over the other and then hold the ion device over the chicken feed.

  4. If it is a headless server (no monitor) then you'll need to login remotely via SSH¹ then you just do it the same way you would if you were at the computer.

Keep in mind, if the server is running Linux then you shouldn't ever have to defrag it².  If you're convinced you need to defrag your Linux server the link will provide more information on how to do it.  Even newer versions of Windows don't require defragging as often as older versions.

If the server isn't running an SSH server then that's a whole different question because you'll want to get local access to the server and hook up a monitor so you can install an SSH server to allow remote access in the future.
