How do you delete locked up trojan viruses ?

I'm using NOD32 as an anti virus and it detected a trojan virus in my hard drive. I copied it to quarantine and then deleted it. NOD32 said "Error-File locked up" what can I do to get rid of the virus? Please help. Btw (by the way) the virus opens Internet explorer windows that tell me to buy anti virus. It's pretty weird. Please Help !!!
