You know how when you type something into Google (or any other search-engine) and it comes up with words you've previously typed in?

Well I was wondering how to delete them. They're annoying.

  1. press the down arrow so they are highlighted and then press the delete key on your keyboard

  2. That feature is called "Autocomplete". Simply go onto the "Tools" tab which is located at the top of your browser, "Clear Private Data" and then click "Clear Private Data Now" on the new window (after you have ticked all the options). This is for Mozilla Firefox users.

If you are using Internet Explorer, go into the "Tools" tab and then click "Delete Browsing history" (for Internet Explorer 6, 7 and 8).

After that is done, all the drop-down lists should be removed. However, when you type something into Google again, it should ask "Do you wish for the AutoComplete feature to be turned on". Click no, and you're done.

If however you just wish to remove one of the Autocomplete drop-down lists, simply press the down button when it appears and press delete.

  3. in simple words:

tools menu > options > look for the checkmark thats responsible for saving Autocomplete history > uncheck it
