  1. Your question is very broad it would take one a lot of research to be able to answer it fairly and accurately.  I am Filipino living abroad and I don't even know where to start.  I wish your question is more specific.  It's just my opinion.

  2. They are OK

If I REALLY told you what I think, you would report me for abuse, and I don't want that... so let's just say I don't have any particular feelings.

  3. This is going to be my third response in three days to almost the same question. I may put up the links or I would probably cut & paste my answer below:

How do I look at/describe the Philippine people?

This might come as a surprise, but they are just like anyone else.

Except most of them speak &/or understand 2,3, 4 & more languages. City people are up to date in western fashion, the arts, movies & music. There are more & more Filipinos who are travelling abroad to work &/or migrate. And I believe it is still the only predominantly Christian country in the whole of Asia, the most American but also have it's fair share of hard-core anti-Americans in their region & still home to a big group of people who speak or at least understand English. There are still people over there who would gladly open their homes to complete strangers & are hospitable enough to have them inside their homes & even share their food.

BUT They are a diverse group of people & one cannot really say that they are Asians or if they are more Hispanic than Asian or if they are more Pacific Islanders or what.

The people are very regionalistic & the diversity is more pronounced when you think that the 7,100+ islands that make up the country is home to 80 or more different languages. 80% of Filipinos are Roman Catholics but I guess a big majority of them are non-practicing, although a considerable number are very religious. The people are generally laid-back & are musically inclined. And there might still be indigenious people in certain remote areas.

BUT it is not easy to generalize as in any other country, for there are always differences from people who grew up in the cities as against those that grew up in the countryside. And from those who lived in exclusive villages & went to exclusive schools/international schools or studied abroad from those who only finished grade school in the single floor public school in their barrio.

If you think of the Philippines, you might think of them as a cross between a Hispanic, Southeast Asian that you would probably think grew up in Hollywood but speak in a somewhat funny accent that sings all the great American songs of yesteryears & sing songs in several unknown languages.

  4. they live a normal life like any human being.

  5. my answer will get reported because some cannot stand the real truth . Some are hard working , but most dont know how to work effeciently . Some sit all day and sing into the kareoke machine ( and very loudly , as to play it to the neighborhood ) . Many are nice to one's face but some of these same ones are rude when they drive . Many will say they are just like anyone else , but they have not been anywhere else ; so an educated answer is not possible . Many will answer your questions with an answer , even if it's not a true answer .
