My mom has always joked that she has ADD because she can never stay on topic and will even stop in the middle of a sentence and not finishing it, and will suddenly forget what she was talking about and start talking about something else. I can never sit still in class and I'm really fidgety. If I write anything or have long conversations I get really off topic and i'm constantly told by my friends that I'm soooo random and i can't help it. my brother also thinks i have add. do i?

  1. ADD stands for Attention Deficit Disorder so if you have problems paying attention, concentrating and sticking to one topic you should get evaluated by a doctor. I'm surprised your teacher doesn't say anything.

  3. An evaluation to determine if you are ADD or ADHD includes an observation by the doctor, a physical and neurological exam, standardized screening, psychological testing, and a comprehensive interview with the child, parent and teacher.

It sounds to me like you are ADHD rather than ADD, but there's no way of knowing without a doctor's eval.
