I already have a board, but I've out grown it and need a new one. The last board I bought, I had help from my older brother, but now he lives out of state so a chart or something would really help.

  1. based on the height ro

  2. The first rough criteria that you use to choose a board is your height.  If you're a beginner or park rider the board will probably be between your collarbones and chin.  If you're more advanced it'll usually be about mouth height and if you're a powder kinda rider it might be nose to forehead.

Once you've figured that out check the weight specs on your board.  If you're heavier you'll want to find a longer or stiffer board and if you're light you'll need a shorter or softer board.

Longer and stiffer boards are harder to turn than short soft ones.

If you can go to a proper board shop or at least a store that has staff who ride regularly they'll be able to talk to you and pick the best board for your needs.

    Happy riding!

  3. For height, Its usually all the same. Usually between your chin to nose for a good length. Shorter for park, Longer for Speed and stability. The weight and other stuff usually differs from board to board ( although not by much) Look at the specs for the boards and that should help you.

It would be easier to just go to a boardshop and have someone help you out. They will choose the right sizes for you.

  4. You can't really determine the measurements of the snowboard based on your height and weight. You kinda have to walk into the store and start comparing  boards to your height. Just hold the board in front of you standing up straight. If you're a newbie or you like to do tricks then the board  should be between your collar bones and chin. Remember shorter boards are easier to maneuver. If you're an intermediate/advance  rider then you can get a longer board that should be somewhere between your chin and your nose. If your a bit on the heavy side it's the same guidelines just look for a board with a stiffer flex. Hope this makes sense. Hope it helps you.
