  1. Slugging Percentage is the amount of total bases divided by at bats (not including walks)

  2. Total Bases divided by At bats

  3. Total bases divided by number of at-bats, e.g. if a player has 100 at bats with 31 hits, his BATTING average is 31/100 = .310. If among his 31 hits he has had 6 doubles, 1 triple and 4 home runs, then his total bases = 31 - 6 - 1 - 4 = 20 singles (1 total base apiece) + 6 doubles (6 X 2 = 12 total bases) + 1 triple (3 total bases) + 4 home runs (4 X 4 = 16 total bases) = 51 total bases overall; 51/100 = .510 SLUGGING percentage.

  4. Total bases divided by at bats.  A single is one base, a double two, etc.  If you have a player's stats, add hits plus doubles plus twice the triples ans thrice the homers and divide by at bats.

  5. i look in the paper or online...that is how I determine it
