How do you dial a vanity number?

I feel really stupid asking this, but I really dont understand it. Do I press 4 twice if I want to dial an "H" like I would a text message?

What would I dial if I wanted to dial:

1-800-HELP

Just press the digits on your handset that match the letters under each button.

HELP would be: 4357

L=5

P=7
