How do you dial + on a BT Synergy 4100 handset?

I am wanting to make an international call on my BT Synergy 4100 landline telephone. But I can not work out how to dial a + to put before the international code.

Holding down 0, * and # does nothing. Any clues?

I am in the US, so I would not be familiar with how to do it from the UK. You might try finding the number to put before the international code (online, e.t.c.) and then just dial it. Sorry if this is not much help.
