How do you disabled call waiting for incoming calls?

On my home phone, I have call waiting. I would like to shut it off for incoming phone calls for a few hours. Is this possible? I know about using *70 to disable it for an outgoing call, but do I have to shut the service off completely for incoming calls? I'm with Verizon.

  1. I went through this last month and I have verizon too.  Just call 611 and they can disable the service on your phone temporarily.  However, be aware that it goes back into effect at midnight.   This is free of charge by the way.  Hope this helps.

I did it because I was expecting an incoming phone interview and my cars bluetooth has a bug where call waiting rings never stop even if you ignore the call.

  2. Look in the front of your PHONE BOOK - the official book that the phone company gives you. IT has directions how to enable and disable all services.

  3. It depends on who does your phone service. I have Vonage, so it isn't the same if I had the local phone service.

  4. *70

  5. Hi,

Call waiting comes as a package and it will be preactivated to deactivate it you would be having star codes and it varies from service provider to service provider, for Bell canada its *70 ,

call your service provider and you would be assisted Immediately

  7. There is nothing to prevent it on incoming calls. The only choice is to remove the feature from your package.
