How do you disconnect the courtesy lights when you take your doors off a Jeep Wrangler?

Which model do you have? The TJs have the fuse marked as "door-jamb disable" in the bottom row of the fuse block.

You have two choices: you can remove the fuse for the dome lights (you will have to check your owners manual or if you are lucky the fuse panel may be labeled) or you can purchase a pair of special springs that hold the door ajar switch in a position that will keep the lights out.  The link to this part is below.
