I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer 2wd, i had a bad Brake Light switch (connected to the turn signal switch...) It cost me 230 bucks for a new one... now i put it back together, tried to start it and it started and died instantly, and the security light came on...i rented the Scanner tool from autozone, checked for a code (i figured i would show up as an error code...) but there was no codes at all... Somoeone told us that we need a new ignition switch, but i wanna make sure it is that before i go taking it all apart again...i was just gonna get the ECU reprogrammed and Disable the VATS, but i dont think it will work because the scanner said there was not codes or anything wrong...

Suggestions please!!! Thanks for the help!!

  1. It is likely time to recycle the vehicle. AutoOnInfo.net's reliability/durability studies suggest that 7-year-old Chevrolet is as troublesome to own as a 34-year-old Toyota and a 48-year-old Honda. Your vehicle is at least 8 years old and I haven't seen any 48-year-old Hondas on the highway, although I have seen an occasional 34-year-old Toyota.
