How do you dispose of your smelly household waste?

There is a report that Prime Minister Gordon Brown may ban the use of plastic bags.

I have responded to calls to help the environment and recycle where possible. When possible I throw waste away in brown paper bags which have come with items purchased locally.

Isn't it time that the Supermarkets were encouraged to produce biodegradable bags rather than just blaming the population for using that which they make so readily available to us.

Our local Council now collecting household waste fortnightly recommend wrapping smelly waste in two plastic bags to avoid flies and maggots!

So often we are just told what is going to happen with no one giving any solutions.

A plastic biodegradable plastic bag is available and I have purchased fresh produce in bags which state this.
