  1. (5/2)x + (1/4)x = 9/4 + x

    add the like terms:

    (5/2)x + (1/4)x = (10/4)x + (1/4)x = (11/4)x

    now u have: (11/4)x = 9/4 + x

    subtract x:  (11/4)x - x = (11/4)x - (4/4)x = 9/4

    u get: (7/4)x = 9/4

    now jus use basic algebra:

    uget  7x = 9

    which means x = 9/7

  2. why would you want to divide it?

    I assume you want to solve it?

    5/2x + 1/4x = 9/4 + x

    multiply by 4

    10x + x = 9 + 4x

    7x = 9

    x = 9/7

    .

  3. u add like terms first

    5/2x + 1/4x = 9/4 + x

    multiply 5/2 by 2/2 to get the same denominator

    so now it is

    20/4x + 1/4x = 9/4 + x

    add like terms

    21/4x = 9/4 + x

    subrtact x from both sides

    20/4x = 9/4

    then u multiply by the recprical...so it would be

    20/4x times 4/20 = 9/4 times 4/20

    now solve

    x = 9/20

    because the 4's cancel out

    hoped i have helped you
