My friend thinks that you actually go on the very tips of your toes.

However I think that you stand on the front of your toe, so you kind of scrumple it up :S

Who is right? Pics will be great

  1. your friend is right. Dancers use a special sues made from layers of linen, cardboard, wood and a special glue to make a shoe to hold their feet. They also put in protective padding to support the feet. See all of these pics.

  2. The shoes Ballerinas use to to "toe dancing" are specially made with a hard, extremely supportive toe box, so your friend is right - you actually do stand right on the tips of your toes.  The only reason your toes could scrunch is if your shoes were way to small!

However - standing on point is only possible in the special toe shoes, not plain ballet flat slippers.  Here are some pictures:

  3. I used to do pointe dancing, and yes, it is on the tips of your toes.

  4. you actually stand on the tips. But you have special shoes that you do it in called pointe shoes.

  5. If your talking about dancing on pointe, you do dance on the tips of your toes. But you were special shoes called point shoes that are shaped kind of like a hard box so that they can hold you up. It sounds painful, but if your shoes fit right and your standing on pointe correctly it shouldn't hurt.

I'm attaching a picture of somebody on pointe and the shoes themselves.

  6. you stand on the tips with pointe shoes

PLEASE DO NOT TRY IT WITHOUT POINTE SHOES, YOU WILL DAMAGE YOUR FEET!!!

  7. tips of your toes, and second thing is in pointe hoes you shouldn't have space to ballance on your knuckles or else they are badly fitted.
