I have read about T-touch in the Heartland books and wondered if my horse would like it. I have no idea what you are susposed to do though. I know you are susposed to do circles but that is all know about it. I know what it does for your horse....I just don't know how to do it.

  2. Well you should really take a class on it before you atemmt it your self because like with all massages you can hurt your horse very bad but you go in light single circles on there pressures point like ears rump, and withers but be careful.

  3. HAHA I WONDERED THE SAME THING BUT I NEVER FIGUERED IT OUT LOL

  4. Leave that sort of thing to the chiropractors.

  5. here's her home page and it explains everything.  The creator of T-touch is Linda Tellington Jones and not only is her massage therapies amazing but also her training methods

  6. When I seen the title of your question I knew I had heard of it somewhere...although wasn't it chestnut hill books? They are connected series so anyway...I am going to be following your question and finding out myself for my two horses. I didn't really think it was all that real but...here we are!

  7. It is a  massaging treatment to help your horse relax and accept touch to "no-touch" (places he doesn't want you touching eg= ears) areas.

Basically you start at the top of their neck, and work your way down with the line of the hair in small circles. Use firm pressure, but not hard. Do this all along their bodies. After a few sessions of massaging my horse this way he started to relax visibly when I started the circles. This method will not solve major problems, but I have found that it is a good way to bond with your horse.

  8. The basic one is done with your hand slightly cupped. Using your thumb as an anchor press your fingers on the horses skin. You need to move the skin, not just slide over the hair. In a clockwise motion, starting at the 6 o'clock position gently move in a circle....about the size of a quarter....come back around the clock past the 6 to the 9. Then gently raise your fingers and slide them to the next area. You can do many touches in a line this way or in a more random pattern.

  9. In a clock wise motion use your 2nd and 3rd fingers and do small circles, always start on the neck. Be sure you don't press to hard but firm enough so your horse can enjoy it! I hope I helped. I do it on my horses and they love it! PS- I have read the Heartland books!
