BTW - I am an IT consultant making more than 6 figures by a landslide. Just because I am taking a urine test does not mean I am on drugs. They are checking cortisol levels. So for the young man who thinks I should get a job and stop taking drugs - you should probaly not answer questions that you don't have a helpful answer for.

  1. Come on people, if you don't know what you are talking about don't answer these questions.  JEEZ.

A 24 hour urine test is not for drugs!!!

I would say that you could take a smaller container with you to work, just make sure that it is clean and free of any contaminates.  Call the lab and ask if they have any smaller ones that you can use. They might.  Don't skip any urine because it can affect your results, can you do this on a weekend? It might be easier for you that way.

  2. what are you talking about? is this a drug test? if it is, then you go to a certain place and no you don't bring it with you

  3. Bringing the bottle provided by the lab is your best option, especially if the bottle has had a preservative added. Also, using another smaller bottle presents the risk of contamination.

Why not call the lab and ask? However, be sure you are speaking to a knowledgeable person. Not all techs will know the proper answer to questions such as this.

  4. You can. I did mine on a weekend and stored it in the refrigerator until I took it back to the lab.  You can ask if you can take a smaller opaque bottle to work for that 8-10 hours instead of that huge gallan jug that screams pee-jug.

Addendum:  A 24 hr urine test is when they give you a jug that you deposit you urine into for 24 hours.  You take it back to the lab/doctor for determining various levels of substances for kidney and other evaluations.
