  1. On a well trained, well balanced horse, all you should have to do is confirm your first lead aids and then switch to the other lead aids.  In a less experienced horse, you need to ask for it over a small jump or cavaleti pole, while emphasizing the turning cues.   Do you know the basic aids for asking for a particular lead?  If not I can most definitely post some.  I love flying lead changes!

EDIT: Check out the links given below, they rock my socks.

  2. Im not sure how to but if you do to many flying changes it can break down your horse.... it doesnt hurt to do a few but my instructer told me that a few days ago

  3. start ofand put a small jump on a diagonal line strike the horse of in the correct canter (remember your inside leg forward outside one back) lead then come round to the jump. when you go over the jump turn the horse as if doing a change the reighn and swap your leg positioning. keep doing this a lowering the jump untill you just get a pole the nothing. this works for almost all horses i managed to do this on a 25 year old jumping pony!!!!

  4. Here are a couple sites that explain it very well (much better than I would):

  5. Take your out side rain and slightly pull and with you inside leg softly kick or squeeze depending on the horse. he should swich. the best place to do it is in a corner or when circling:D
