  1. here is a link on the mechanics of how to do a fouette and a video. Also you may not know this but there are two kinds of fouettes, the Russian version and the more modern version. The russian you bring your working left back front instead of just bringing it in front. I hope this makes sense but I doubt it if you don't know how to do a fouette in the first place. Good luck! achieving fouette turns in very rewarding!!

(in the video, it looks like she is doing the russian version.)

  2. fouttes arent that hard, especially if you can already pirouette. before you actually do a fouette, you should practice your ron de jambes and work into trying a flat foot fouette (without turning). the motion of a fouette is a ron de jambe en l'air and a passe. you start out with the set up for a pirouette, turn, extend the leg you used for the passe, bring it back in, turn, extend, bring it in, etc. for as long as you want to fouette. dont forget to spot!! good luck with your fouettes

  3. okay. a fouette is like a piroutte but what you do is when your turning you will spot and then you will do a ran de jam onliar and connect back to passe. thats one foutte, as many times you do that each one should make one full turn.

    good luckk with yur fouette

  4. Ok you have to forgive me for my terrible french spelling but you have to do a rondajam en lair (circle of the leg in the air if that helps:) ) before you can do fouette. You have to have your leg totally out to the side though. you releve as your leg circles and plie when it striaghtens out front. its really hard to explain through words. If it helps go to justforkix.com.  They show you how to do it in a video.

  5. 1.)Stand tall on your left foot and prep side then back (in fourth position) with your right foot. Make sure your weight is centered between the two feet. Do a double pirouette, leg turned out.

2.)Open your right leg at an angle as you spot your second pirouette. Plie at the angle to power your body around. Continue to open your leg completely to the side and pull it into passe for three-quarters of a turn.

3.)Spot the mirror and open your leg again at the corner (left angle if facing front) while you plie and open your leg side. Pull it into passe and continue the next turn.

4.)Repeat Steps 2 and 3 for as many fouettes as you would like. Pull into passe and pirouette out of it to finish. Most of the time the leg lands back crossed, chest lifted. However, you may finish the turn combination however you see fit.

5.)Repeat Steps 1 through 4 on the opposite side where the left leg is your working leg and the right leg is the center. Practice daily and you'll be able to do these well in time.

in this video a girl shows you the movement that your leg makes (at the barre) while someone explains it, then she does the actual turn

hope this helps...fouettes are challenging and take time to learn, but they are fun to do!!! :-)

  6. what you do is put our best leg out (right if your turning right left if your turning left) a little bit off the ground infrount of you then whip it around into a pasae and turn then repeat
