  1. Make your hand into a fist

    Right foot

    Left foot

    Jump up, a little bit forward.

    Hit the ball downward.

  2. Okay. . .

    So for the three step approach (easiest) you step with your left foot, then you do a small little stomp stomp thing with right left as you do the right left stomp thing you go down low & swing your arms behind you. (you bend down for spring) and as you come up bring your arms up. hitting with the right hand & keeping the left hand up to act as a searcher to spot the ball.... I'm sorry, it's hard to explain!!! good luck.

  3. I'm right handed.

    you start with your left foot.

    then right foot. jump up

    throw the ball

    then hit with open hand.

    not closed.

  4. you step with your left foot when you are ready to spike the ball.

    when you toss the ball up, make it go atleast more than 1 foot above your head, but not more that you lose control of the ball.

    so just pass above your head.

  5. use the three step approach. left foot right foot swing arms back and jump and make complete contact with the ball and snap your wrist downwards good luck

    shorty

  6. Approach is like pushing yourself on the runway like an airplane, so that you want to get your horizontal momentum into vertical with a balanced take-off by jumping off BOTH feet.

    There are 3-step, 4-step, and 5-step approaches. For a right handed the end state is to have your left foot step next to your right foot before taking off.

    So for 3-step, left.. right.left (the final one a small step);

    for 4-step, right..left..right.left;

    for 5-step, left..right..left..right.left.

    A beginner should start with no approach or 3-step approach. Add your arm swing to the approach when are ready.

  7. As said in the above answers, you should use 3 steps.

    Big left, big right and a small left step.  The reason you take the small step is to help you jump up and not forward into the net.

    Do not use your fist.  If you use your fist, you can join a team that I used to play against.  The Wallbangers.  You want your hand cupped or shaped like a volleyball.  That way, you will get the topspin that you want to have.  The topspin will bring the ball into the court.

    Practice your approach without the volleyball at home.  Do an approach, land, and get back to your starting position and do the approach.  Do 10 approaches and then take a 1 minute break.  Do 10 and so on.  Do at least 10 sets of 10.  You can not think about your feet when you are trying to watch the ball.

  8. I am right handed, so when you are right handed, the footwork is :

    LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, then you jump up, extend your arm back like you would 'grab your ponytail', and swing it so it hits the ball, make sure you hit the ball as hard as you can, and down.

    You also need to be able to read the ball from the setter, never start taking your approach until AFTER the setter sets the ball, so you don't go to the wrong place and can't hit the ball.

    It takes a while to get the footwork down, I used to practice at home by taking my approach, and jumping as high as i can to hit a beam, then i moved onto a higher beam, then the ceiling. you could try that.

    After you get the footwork down, the timing can be a little tricky sometimes, you just have to practice with that.

    I hope this helps !

    :]
