How do you do a (sports) suicide?

I'm on club volleyball, and our coach makes us do half court suicides. I've never done a suicide before and i missed my first practice. 2nd practice is tm and i want to know HOW to do one so i don't end up looking a bumbling idiot. please answer with howto do a HALF court suicide. thanks

  1. To do a half court suicide you start at the endline then run to the ten foot line and run back to the endline. Then, you run to the half court line and back to the endline. That's it!


  2. Ok they are not fun first person, Basically you have to run back and forth between a half'court. You could do up to 20 sets depending on coaches conditioning needs

  3. well if it is on the volley ball court, you start at the base line where you serve from and then you run quick to the ten foot line, and back to the base line, and then run back to the middle of the court, and then run back to the base line.. and that's half court.

    make sure to run quick and if the coach makes you touch the lines do so..

    but also they get you tired really quick so it is going to be a hussle to do them..

  5. Sounds like fun!  Also sounds like you have a good coach.  A regular suicide is starting at the long end of the volleyball court, the same end as the rest of your teammates if you don't want to collide, ouch!

    When coach says go, you touch the 10 ft. line, come back to beginning and touch beginning line, go back to the middle of the court and touch that line, go back and touch beginning line, go past the midpoint of the court and touch the other 10 ft. line, go back and touch beginning line, run all the way down and touch the opposite end line, then run back to where you began as hard as you can.

    I'm not sure exactly what a HALF court suicide is, I'm assuming you just touch the first 10 ft. line, go back and touch the end line, touch the middle line and run as hard as you can back to the starting end line and you are done.  

    Sometimes coach will have you pick a partner and have 1 person do the suicide first, and then the second person goes while the fist person is resting. (usually means there is another coming...)   If that is the case, watch the first set of girls go, then you will know for sure.  Good luck, kick some butt this season!

  6. Suicides are lines, so you just run lines. So from the baseline to the 10 foot line back to the baseline to the half court line & back to the baseline. Easy as cake.... Hope I helped!
