  1. bend on your one knee, left in case of conventional sweep, and sweep like a sweeper targetting the leg side , lol !

bend on your right knee, right in case of reverse sweep, and sweep like a reverse sweeper targetting the off side , lol !

  2. They are both extremely tough shots, mainly because they have to be premeditated. Playing the sweep, shuffle across to outside your offstump, get on your front knee, and attempt to guide the ball past the keeper and slips, preferrably past even fine leg. Reverse sweep is essentially the same, except you have to "become" left handed if you're right handed, and right handed if you're left handed.

  3. Difficult shot, you need to be very positive about the ball you are going to play the shot to. Both shots are played very close to the ground, usually with the batsman going down on one knee, but with the reverse, you change the position of both hands on the bat, and you go down on the other knee. A lot to think about in such a short time, and very few players use the shot with any regularity. KP being one of the exceptions.

  4. The MAIN point is to keep your eye on the ball.

You have to commit to the shot, once your on your knee you have to play the stroke, watch the ball come to you and play a cross bat shot across the line when the ball is under your eyes.

Aim under the ball if you are playing the slog sweep, and aim for on top of the ball if you are playing the paddle sweep, or just knocking the ball into a gap.

    So Key steps

    1. Get into position early (one knee on the floor)

    2. Watch the ball

    3. Play the ball near your eyes

    4. Hit the ball either under or over

Reverse sweep is similar although far more dangerous, you have to do all the steps above, but you have to turn the bat face and play the ball on the off-side (RHB)
