How do you do gun shot effects with Adobe premiere pro CS3?

  1. Just find it in the effects menu and drop it in the timeline, but make sure it's in the right window.


  2. It depends what you want.

    If you want to make it look like a gun is being fired, find an audio clip of a gunshot and add some light to the gun (you can use a concentrated lens flare if worst comes to worst - I've done it before).

    If you want to do a "gunshot effect" where it looks like the screen was hit by a bullet, it's more complicated, and I highly suggest you use After Effects to do it. Depending on what you want to do, you might have to draw some shapes in Photoshop.

  3. there are some cheap effects that you can download, muzzle flashes and the like as well as sound effects.  The easiest way to do it is download one with a black background and drop it on the track above where you want it to be.  Set your audio there too.  Now, a muzzle flash on a black background will require a luma Key effect, set this on the muzzle flash track and set your settings correctly so there is no black to be seen.  

    Thats the easiest way to do it.  It doesn't look all too great but if you're an After Effects novice then it would be the easiest way.
