you know how next to people's answers theres a picture of them self? well how do you make one?

go to your profile, itll say something about it somewhere.

click on the "help" button while signed into Yahoo answers and type in "avatar".  All of the instructions will be there for you.  Enjoy

Sign into Yahoo Messenger. Then click on the tab that says Messenger. Then click My Display Image. After that, there should be a circle that says share my avatar. Next to that, click customize. Hope this helps!

You can have an avatar (cartoon character that sort of looks like yourself) or a photo/image:

IMAGE:

First, create a 360 space at http://360.yahoo.com . While logged into a yahoo service (mail, answers, whatever), type 360.yahoo.com in your web browser's address field (or just type 360 in a Yahoo! toolbar). Start creating your 360 space from there. Click the BIG YELLOW "Get Started" BUTTON on the far right section of that page.

After that, you can log in by by clicking on the teeny tiny "Sign-in" button on the upper left of the page (if you're not signed in already). Then, the page refreshes and click on the teeny tiny "Yahoo 360 Home" link on the upper right of the page to get into the 360 space.

UPDATED: Make sure a JPEG formatted photo (with .jpg, .jpeg, .jpe extension) under 5MB is saved to your hard drive. If you don't already have an image of yourself in a digital file (JPEG), then you will have to produce one.

****Get a digital camera and have someone (or yourself) take a shot of yourself, then upload that image from your camera to the computer by following camera instructions.

****Get a disposable camera from a drugstore (like Walgreens, Target, or CVS). Have someone (or yourself) take a shot of yourself. When you get the film developed at the store that you purchased the camera make from, make sure that your prints come with a photo CD. Put the CD in the computer. Open the CD folder (there may be some software that asks to be installed, when you insert the CD. You don't have to do that) and copy (and or drag) the image from the CD's picture folder to your computer OR just make sure you know how to get to the image on the CD (i.e. the folder and file name).

*****Get a photo of yourself and scan it into your computer. If you don't have a scanner, go to a FedEx (or other printing center) and see if they can scan the photo. Then, see if they can burn you a CD with the image on it. Although, it would be more cost effective to do multiple images for this.

Once you have a digital file of yourself on the computer:

- Click your "My Page" link at the top

- Click "Edit Profile Photos" over the empty picture frame

- Click "Browse" and upload photo into an empty field. Then click one "use as primary" radio button on the right before saving.

You can't upload more than 4 profile pictures (this includes an avatar). Make sure that you are following the 360 Personal Photo guidelines here: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/gui... .

Then, come back to Yahoo! Answers. Click the "My Profile" link to the upper right of this Yahoo! Answers page, then click "Edit My Info" in the top left box on the Answers profile page. Scroll down to the image section and check the option of showing the 360 picture. Click Preview and then the OK button.

NOTE: The image may not show up right away in Y/A, as it sometimes take days for the system to catch up. You will have a grayed out image until that happens.

Go to http://avatars.yahoo.com and sign in (if you're not already). You can make an avatar image there. If you need help with making the avatar, follow instructions at http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/avatars... Your avatar is currently a grayed out man/woman because it's the default image. Make sure that you click the orange "Save Changes" button below your Avatar preview window before leaving the site!

Then, click "My Profile" to the upper right of most Yahoo! Answers pages, then click "Edit My Info" in the top left box on the Answers profile page. Choose your avatar in the pic section. Click Preview and then the OK button.

click on My Profile on the right side of your Yahoo! Answers page... then look for "edit my info"
