  1. This one is basic as it gets.. Fan the cards out in your hands have the person pick one and look at it..  split the deck where the person pulled their card.. look at the bottom card .. have the person put the card back on top .. put the deck back together.. shuffle it but do it ruff shuffle.. start laying the cards out face up.. the card your looking for will be the one right after the one you looked at.

  2. There are a lot of tricks where you eventually pick up the card they chose... it depends which one you want.  Anyway, heres the most basic card trick:

Effect:  The person picks a card.  It is put back somewhere in the deck and shuffled.  Then the magician waves his hand over the deck and spreads the deck out, face down.  All the cards are face down except for the chosen card.

How:  Before the trick, flip the bottom card of a deck face down (so there are 2 card backs on either end of the deck).  Fan out the cards face down and have the person pick a card.  Angle the cards toward them and hide the bottom (flipped) card when you do this with the other cards so they won't see it.  Once they pick a card, tell them to look at it.  While they're doing this, flip the deck over discreetly.  Make sure the deck is squared up (so they won't see the face-up cards in the deck) and tell them to put their card back in anywhere in the deck.  Once you do this, distract them with a magic saying or something while you flip the 'trick' bottom card over again.  Now shuffle and cut the deck as much as you want.  Fan them out and the person's card should be the only one face up.

This is the most basic card trick actually, if this isn't what you were looking for please write what you want, I will give you another one.

    Hope this helped!
