How do you do the finger scales for the violin?

i left the violin for about 8 years, but now my grandmas making me take it up again. im also trying to avoid hiring a private tutor, since my family's tite on $$$. how do you do the finger scales for the violin? i mean, how far do you put your fingers apart? im not talking about flats and stuff, but just the regular, basic scale.

Scales do not have a constant fingering.  It depends on the key signature and number of octaves of the scale you are playing.  Although it can be difficult at first, try listening to yourself play to know where the notes are.  For the key signatures, try to find a copy of the circle of fifths on the internet, it is very helpful.
