Question:

How do you do the purl stitch in knitting?

So I tried to follow the simple directions in Knit 2 Together (They have some really wonderful patterns!) And all it said was that you just twist the yarn counterclockwise (Or clockwise, I might have it mixed up) instead of clockwise when you're making the new row of stitches. Apparently, I misread it, or they miswrote it because it came out exactly the same as the garter stitch when I was trying to do the stockinette. So if you would please give me some really simple easy to follow directions, (I'm more of a visual learner, so I mean really simple directions.) Or maybe a video even, if you can find one, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm trying to expand my knitting skills, so purling is something I kinda have to learn how to do...

    The Purl stitch is the same as the knit stitch, expect that you do it on the from right to the left vs left to right for the knit stitch. Here some info that might help you:
