  2. Wear clothes that allow you to stretch eg: tracksuit, leotard, swimming costume, shorts etc.

    Watch TV, or read a book because this passes by the time while you are stretching, this will distract you from the pain and allow you to stay in the same position without getting too bored.

    Spread your legs as wide as they will go, and sit with them wide for 10-15 minutes.

    Use something to hold your legs in that wide position such as something heavy and wide like a dresser, a wall, or a person(who slowly widens them with his/her legs).

    Stand every 10-15 minutes and allow the pain from the stretch to wear off.

    Get stretched faster and do more stretches for the same amount of time.

    Repeat the process and allow your self to stretch wider each time for more minutes (25)at least.

    Remember to breath deeply and stretch more on exhales

    Avoid bouncing and rocking into position or having someone painfully force the stretch. You could tear or damage tendons, ligaments and muscles.

  3. If your not flexible everyday try to hold your best split for about a min everyday you should get lower and lower and better.

  4. every day lie your legs down infront of you and hold your feet . Keep doing this and you will beable to do them. It took me about 7 months but.. i wasnt doing it every day so it will be faster if u do it for about 20 mins each  day .

  8. It is something you work up to. No one can do splits overnight... or at least most people. Stretch a little further each day and one day you'll be able to do the splits.

  9. I can't say I know, but I tried once and it didn't end well. My best suggestion is don't. It is so pointless. I think you should review your desire to push your body to holy unnatural limits.

  12. me?  very slowly spreading out legs until i'm still about two feet off the ground.  never could touch my toes with my legs straight either.

    Do stretches daily and you'll eventully get there. To do forwards splits put one leg out in front of you and touch your toes with the other leg kneel down and keep trying to touch the floor with it out flat. Soon enough you'll get there.

    To do box splits stand up and keep moving your feet further and further apart until you can touch the floor with your hands. get as close as you can sitting on the floor and hold for 10 seconds. Repeat a few times everyday but remember to stretch beforehand!

  17. this is wat i did to get my splits:: i stretched everyday more and more and then everyday i try doin the splits and each day i would go down farther if u try this like everyday u will most likely get them =] hope u get it! hope i helped

    You ave to stretch everyday though! What I do is I touch my toes for 5 seconds then shake it out for 5 seconds and I keep doing that for 35 seconds. Good luck!! Oh and if you want to do the center splits, do the butterfly, but dont move your legs up and down because you could seriously hurt yourself.

  24. ok this is wat you do go to your stairs put one leg up on the stairs go all the way down i was in gymnastics and thats wat they told me wat to do

  27. well i just kept practicing and going down further each time. it helps to sit down in front of a couch and lean back with your legs speard out like you are stretching and have someone keep pushing your legs back till it hurts then stay like that till the pain goes away and then keep going. it worked for me

  28. if you are not used to stretching hard like this just start with your feet one right in front of the other... slide down until you can feel it starting to hurt. (dont push yourself. if you wait to long to stop sliding it may hurt alot, or you could possibly pull a muscle!) just sit there.. for a minute or two. if you find your leges accidentally sliding apart more, and it doesnt hurt, just let yourself slide again (not too much remember!) because that means your bpdy is loosened up enough to go farther. do this everyday, but with each day, try to slide just a bit farther that the day before. dont be too frustrated it could take weeks and weeks to go all the way down into a split! you can do both legs each dy too if you would like. next, you can try a middle split in the same way. but keep your butt, and feet touching a wall at the same time, so you can know you are doing it right. it is better to be completely straight, but high off the ground, than it is to be more that half-way through, and on the ground. do this everyday also, and someday your hips will both touch the ground and it will be a straight line from big toe, to big toe.

  30. As they say, stretch a bit more every day, getting lower and lower. I had to do it for karate, to kick high.
