How do you do these things on mario kart wii?

ok i have tried and tried to beat the mario circuit time trial(which my bro made 1:58 and i have smashed it by 15 seconds(i got 1:42)and i v still not got the expert ghost data can u pleaz tell me how to get it? and also how do you get a star cause ireally want to unlcok bowser jr,bab daisy etc...pleaz help!

to get a one-star ranking you nede to come in first in every race in the circuit by at least 1 second.

And for expert staff ghost, you have to beat the STAFF ghost by 7 seconds, not your borther's score.
