  1. how did you get -5?

    it's multiplication right?

    I got 2x to the fourth + x cubed - 37x squared + 39x - 5

    solution:

    (x squared + 4x - 5) (2x squared - 7x + 1)

    = 2x to the fourth - 7x cubed + x squared + 8x cubed - 28x squared + 4x - 10x squared + 35x - 5

    * rearrange

    = 2x to the fourth - 7x cubed + 8x cubed + x squared - 28x squared - 10x squared + 4x + 35x - 5

    *combine like terms.

    = 2x to the fourth + x cubed - 37x squared + 39x - 5

    Note:

    what I did is I used distributive property.

    *hope this helps
