On the last day of school, this girl did a really cool card trick. What she did was she took a pack of cards, put them behind her back, shuffled them, then pulled out one card, showed it to us and said "this is the [[card here]]" and she got it right! how do you do that?

  1. She probably bent the card or had the card a little thicker than the rest in the pack, and took practice in feeling it out, or maybe she didn't really shuffle, or kept it on top at all times while shuffling.

There's a few ways to pull it off, but it's relatively simple :P

  2. It depends on how the trick started. How was the card chosen in the first place? How was the card placed back in the deck? What did she do before placing the cards behind her back?

She very likely did a slight of hand trick in which the card remained at either the top or the bottom of the deck. You can control the position of the top and bottom card and you would be able to pull it from the top or the bottom very easily.

It may have been even simpler than that. Shuffling the cards behind her back was her way to ensure that nobody saw what trick she was doing. She may not have shuffled anything at all.

  3. It really does depend  on how the trick started, but one way that would be easy is to glimpse the bottom card as you put it behind your back.  Then you could announce what it is as you bring it out.
