Ok, well I know these are easy...

1. (x 1)^3

2. (n 2)^3

Could you give me step by step instructions on how to do these kind of problems?

Thanks!

  1. Is it (x + 1)^3?  I've noticed the + sign tends to disappear on here.

    That would be:

    (x+1)(x+1)(x+1)

    = (x² + 2x + 1)(x + 1)

    = x³ + 2x² + x + x² + 2x + 1

    = x³ + 3x² + 3x + 1

Just remember to multiply everything in one parentheses by everything in the other.

  2. idk wat that is lol

  3. If your just factoring out, do this...

    (x+1)^3

    (x+1) (x+1) (x+1)                   write out

(x^2+x+x+1) (x+1)                 FOIL the first two problems

    (x^2+2x+1) (x+1)                   add like terms

    (x^3+2x+x) + (x^2+2x+1)       distribute the two sets

    x^3+3x^2+3x+1                     add like terms

    FOIL: first outside inside last

    hope i helped..
