How do you draw a foul in water polo?

I played one season, so I'm not too sure, but I'm pretty srue by touching the arm the holds the ball in the air.

and then you have to back off a certain amount of distance or something

I hate water polo.

ive been playing for long now...

you let go of the ball slightly spin it so it comes back to you...and while letting it go lean into the defender and kinda jerk your body like hes grabbing you...but BEWARE if he has both his arms up high the referee will not call it...

If your defender is holding your arm let go of the ball and motion like he is pulling you forward.  Sorry its really hard to explain
