  1. when I read this there were 4 answerer's each and every one correct. firstly you really don't want to or you would ask the person you saw do it. but your not a racer. so your gonna get hurt. either commit yourself (this applies to life as well) or GTFOOI sorry -- get the **** out of it.

  2. Why?

  3. First, you better be a very tiny individual as there's not much room "in" a KX100. I'd suggest some yoga classes so you can fold yourself into the airbox. Then have someone load the bike and you into a Viper or some turbo'ed nitro burning ricer and then have them climb into the driver seat, crank the steering to one side and floor the throttle. With any kind of luck (like them starting the car beforehand) you should be drifting in your kx100.

On the otherhand, if you want learn how to slide or "hack it in" like Wardy at a SuperMoto race while riding "on" your dirt bike, well, there's a few ways to do that.

Safe way #1: Go ride in mud, not only will the back end be constantly spinning and trying to come around the front but when you fall down, a) you'll be going slow and b) mud is soft.

Safe way#2: Hit the sand dunes, almost as easy to spin but better control.

Safe way #3: Ride in snow with ice base, same as above but colder.

Fast way (to the hospital) #1: Air your rear tire up to about 50psi, go out on wet pavement and pin the gas, then dump the clutch. The upside to this method is you may get to see some tire smoke before you break an arm or leg.

Ok, for real (I think that's enough razzing about "drifting in" a dirtbike), sand or mud is best because it is easier to slide in at lower speeds and when you crash it's soft (and you will dump it trying to slide eventually).

To do a hacker, SuMo style, approach the corner in say third gear, then all at the same time, apply front brake and pull the clutch in, downshift to first and as you begin to turn in, let off the brake, dump the clutch and gas it. This is pretty abrupt though, it is better to learn to just give more gas around a flat turn until you start sliding.

  4. Any MX bike will drift....... if you have talent.

  5. Put your KX 100 in a boat and pull the anchor and you will drift.
