How do you drive out of snow?

is there a technique to drive out of the situation like in that video? assume that i dont have a shovel or salt on me. What must i NOT do in a situation like that?

i live in toronto and whenever i pull out i get in a similar situation as the video..

help me out if you can please

well if your car's in the snow you simply put it in drive and go forward until you reach nonsnowy ground
