In Texas drop line fishing consists of tying lines to a over hanging tree limbs, usually for approximately one hundred yards along the bank. You should check if this type fishing is allowed in your state.I have been told that you should drop the lines to the bottom, pull them up a few inches, and when you tie them to the limb be sure it is strong enough to hold the largest of whatever type fish you expect to catch. In Texas its usually catfish and they can be large Good Luck
