If you don't have access to a vacuum-drying apparatus, I suggest keeping it in 10% formalin for a couple of weeks or so. Then dry it off with a paper towel and dry it as quickly as possible without cooking it.

Warning: Formalin is poisonous and the fumes are dangerous to breathe in. Work outdoors. The formalin stink will dissipate in time.

Instead of drying the snake, you could move it from formalin to 70% alcohol after washing it off.
