How do you dry the inside of a camera that has been dropped in water?

my digital camera fell at the beach, just barely, and it stopped working. i dried what i could see out with a towel, and put it under the ceiling fan when i got home, but i need to know how do i make sure it is all dried out?

  1. First thing you should have done, or maybe you did, was to remove any memory card and the battery/batteries. and then let it sit for a few days. Hopefully it will be good, take it to a shop if you can't do any more. This is all the help I have to offer from dropping the cell phone in water. just a little. It worked for me, hopefully the same works for you!


  2. try to place it in a dry box for a few days.  in the absence of one, you can use a large tupperware with an airproof lid, then put silica gels inside along with your camera.

  3. prayer is all I can think. lol

  4. same thing happened to me, except i dropped mine INTO a cup of coffee!  definitely take the batter out asap, leave the battery door open and let it COMPLETELY dry for a few days and then try to turn it on.   just to be safe, i left it to dry at least one full day.  my camera worked fine except the flash would sometimes go off at the wrong time and my picture turned out dark.
