How do you dye a teepee?

Question

We've got a teepee in a sandy colour. But I want to dye it/paint it something a little brighter (so I can find it in a field of tents at the summer festivals!).

Any idea how I do this?

Or if indeed it is possible!!?

It depends what kind of fabric it is, if it has waterproofing on it. Dye isn't going to soak into a waterproofed fabric or any that's synthetic. Maybe you could paint a design on it instead, which can look very cool, or get some bright-coloured fabric to fasten near the top.
