How do you dye the ends of you hair red when its black???

Question

i just dyed my hair black & i wanted to either dye the ends red or get purple streaks

but whats the best way to do this?

i heard you have to bleach the ends to dye them red but how

& how do you do purple streaks, do you have to bleach that out too?

You don't have to bleach it to get red or purple streaks. I've dyed my hair just about every colour you could imagine. Anyway, there's this stuff in a little jar called "Manic Panic" that works pretty good. Also, this stuff called "Colour Rays" that comes in a box by L'Oreal works excellent and it's specially for dark hair but you can also use it on light coloured hair as well. Try it out, good luck.

If you want it to be really noticable you're going to have to use some colour stripper to remove the black

Otherwise itll just look like a highlight effect.

But if you do alot to your hair wait a while inbetween each time or you'll kill your hair
