How do you eat a number?

Question

Why do people order their food by a number instead of by it's name? What does a number taste like and how do you know what you're getting? I can eat a cheeseburger but I don't think I could eat a number. Not to mention that it really sounds like you don't care what you eat or pay for, like as if you were a number. It's fine for restaurants to use codes behind the counter but I wonder if I'm the only one that finds it hard to tell someone my food order by something other than it's real name, especially when it's fast food.

Maybe the numbers are there for people who cant read or pronounce the meals name

It's hard to eat numbers. i suggest you start with 1 as it is easy to digest.

It's a lot easier and faster to give a number than a food name. When I worked fast food, I liked when someone give me a #,  rather than the whole combo name!

you could make number cookies from 1-10 and then your choices are endless.
