Question:

How do you eat dandelion root?

i was wondering if you could just pull it out of the ground and cut off the roots. or if youre supposed to boil it or refrigerate it or something. cause ive heard its really healthy for you and its a cure for a lot of things. so please tell me how your supposed to prepare it for eating. i prefer if you just tell me but giving me links is okay too. 10 points for best answer!

The greens have slightly bitter taste,they are elegant in salad and they make a tasty potherb.I also put them in stir fries and soup.The roots can be roasted as a coffee substitute or boiled and drink like a tea.The plant has been used since antiquity as a diuretic,liver tonic,to threat a skin conditions and a whole host of other host problem.The one cup serving contains of 2.1 grams of protein,many minerals including magnesium,potassium and phosphorous as well as Vitamin E,thiamine,Riboflavin,B-6 and Folate


  2. i do not eat the root not sure about the root but the greens on the top when eatten boiled is high in calcium but not sure other than vitamin a if there are other good things but it is called poor mans spinach. ok I do not eat spinach if it is not cooked right. all yours.

  4. Can I ask why you're eating dandelion root?

    I use it for water retention but I get it in pill form.  Don't know if that's any help to you at all, but it may save you a bit of work if you're just looking to detox/lose water weight.

    If you still want to use actual dandelion you can boil it and make a tea out of it.
