How do you eat spaghetti?

I hold a fork and spoon and twirl the noodles with the fork on my spoon into a little ball and eat it. but someone saw me eating it like That and said it was "fancy" ! is it odd to eat spaghetti like this? how am i supposed to eat it?

I kind of cut it up so that's it's not hanging out of my mouth, or so I don't have to slurp it up.

When I cook it at home I break the spaghetti into thirds so the pieces are shorter.

And, the way you're eating it is correct.  That's why many restaurants serve a large, round spoon with your plate of pasta.

You are doing it the proper intellectual way, which shows you have great table manners.

I just use a fork.  I wrap, carry, load, slurp, chew and swallow.

I do make the one concession of closing my mouth when chewing.

Spaghetti is supposed to be fun to eat!

I twirl mine on a fork, I've never used the spoon.

My late hubby used to cut it up in small pieces. He said when he was younger his uncle beat him with a paddle for using his fork to twirl the spaghetti, because the uncle said, he was playing with his food.

I met the uncle, he was a hateful old s.o.b., my kids refused to eat around him.

I eat spaghetti the same way and it works for me. I don't care what anyone says as long as the spaghetti gets to my mouth and not all over me. Eat on my friend.

I eat my spaghetti exactly the way you do with a fork and a spoon, but I have a "secret weapon", I actually have spaghetti forks...They function just like an ordinary kitchen fork but they have grooves(4) on the outside of either end of the fork, and the spaghetti doesn't slide of the fork as you eat it...

I'm like you ,fork and spoon, that's how I was taught. When I first lived with my husband, I made a meat sauce that takes 2 days to prepare, and simmer, and it is my signature dish. I served him and when I saw him pick up his knife and fork and start cutting up his spaghetti, I screamed. I thought that was horrible. He now eats it the way it was meant to be eaten.

I used to like eating Alphabet spaghetti, because you could spell words on your toast :-)

All that twirling with spaghetti gets tiresome...
