How do you edit long play home video cassettes?

ive got a lot of home video cassettes that where taken in long play.how can i edit them to "normal speed" and convert them to digital to run on the p. c ?

  1. Yes you can but you must really play them out into the computer using the same camcorder that recorded them or you might get errors.

    Look at the printing on the tapes - could be Hi8, Digital, VHS-C or some other. You'd be amazed how many people you know have a camcorder tucked away in the back of a drawer ... and one of them will have the type you need.

    Depending on the camcorder you'll be able to connect to your PC using USB, firewire or phono cables. Then open Microsoft Movie Maker and capture the footage (you can then edit it as you please).

    Because you originally recorded in LP the frame rate was set at that time - no amount of home editing will make a noticeable difference the the quality of the film.
